a dungeon of tiny brains
Send flies through the dungeon. Every one that dies teaches the next.
Move the mouse. Click the fly.
Brain data: Lulzx/fly-brain, built on the FlyEM male-CNS connectome. Art: Block Land by VEXED (CC0).
Pick a body, spend your points, then see how the brain evolves.
Every fly in this game runs on neurons from this wiring diagram. Check it yourself.
The simulation is stopped. Every fly is frozen.
Esc also resumes. You can still look around with the right mouse button and WASD. N mutes.
Every fly runs a live copy of a slice of the real fruit-fly connectome: 6,484 neurons and 193,169 connections taken from the FlyEM male-CNS wiring diagram, through the open Lulzx/fly-brain project.
The wiring does not say how strong synapses are or when to act. Those 8 numbers per fly are evolved: when a fly dies, the next one hatches from the best brains so far, slightly mutated.
Where to go (the path) is supplied by the game, as in other embodied fly simulators. The brain decides whether to flee, push on, or eat.
